Louis Cardenas is a San Antonio native and alumnus of Jefferson High School and San Antonio College. He found himself pulled to art and drawing as a young man (instead of studying). His love of creative arts led him into the dot-com rush in Austin and eventually into marketing and advertising and the founding of his own graphic design firm, Blonde Creative. After years of serving on nonprofit boards (such as SA Youth, SA Reads, Alamo Colleges Foundation, American Advertising Federation – San Antonio + President in 2008), and trying his own hand at spinning records as a DJ, he realized that fostering exposure to arts and music could help young people find themselves. That art can lead to job placement in creative fields, and helps kids harness their own creativity for a greater achievement in school and at work.
